Here are a few examples of wordplay I enjoy:<\/p>\n

From Fountains of Wayne<\/a>‘s “Hung Up On You”:
And I can’t dial the phone just now<\/span>
Even though I know your number<\/span>
Can’t bring my broken heart to be untrue<\/span>
Like you did today you’ll say<\/span>
Goodbye the same old way<\/span>
Ever since you hung up on me<\/span>
I’m hung up on you<\/span><\/p>\n

From Sloan<\/a>‘s “Autobiography”:
I’m writing “young and gifted” in my autobiography <\/span>
I figured who would know better than me <\/span>
I’m certainly the former, but I’m not so much the latter <\/span>
But no one’s gonna read it, so I’m sure it doesn’t matter <\/span><\/p>\n

Or how about the Odds<\/a>‘ “Someone Who’s Cool”:
In natural selection<\/span>
I’ve avoided all detection <\/span>
And the – tender bits underneath<\/span>
All with window dressing <\/span>
And calculated guessing<\/span>
And a bark bigger than my teeth<\/p>\n
